I agreed and said, this is the only way to achieve results.
We must have frequent interaction on phone, or e mail or most DESIREABLE THROUGH FREQUENT MEETINGS. Only then we can understand each other and problems of area.
Kindly circulate minutes of meeting held in A78 MADHUVAN. These are to be sent through courier and list of executive committee with particulars could also be sent.
I have already spoken on this subject to sandeep kapoor and vohra ji.
In fact by now our draaft constitution should also be ready.

East Delhi RWAs Joint Front

I think Mr Sumento Mukherji of Mayfair Apartments has made a very good point that the Front should involve our elected representatives more often in resolving our problems.

If I go a step further, like we in Priyadarshini Vihar hold "Mohalla Sabhas" where we invite the elected representatives, civic agencies and the police to address security issues, the Front should hold "Open House" periodically (may be once in three months or so where all the above authorities should be invited.

we can start it from early next year. This way, they would also be reminded of their duties towards their constituencies.

Dikshit spells out five mantras for Games' success

New Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS) With just 30 days to go for the Commonwealth Games, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit  on Friday assured that Delhi was ready to host the sporting event and stressed five mantras -- come out to watch, come out to play, come out to smile, come out to enjoy and come out to welcome - which she said will help make the Games a grand success.

At the launch of 'Shera Mera Dost' - Commonwealth Games education programme for school children, Dikshit sought the involvement of youth and school children in making the Oct 3-14 event a success.

'Delhi is shaping up very well. We will have a great Games. The preparations are going on very well. It will be better, if we get support from you (the media),' she added.

East Delhi RWAs Joint front

Dear Respected Vohra ji,

Please accept my congratulations on your being appointed the President of the Joint Front of East Delhi RWAs. It will be a humongous task for you to take up every ones complaints. I know you will be facing more brickbats & getting very few shabashi's in executing your job.

It seems that the Patparganj residents RWA's have no representation in the Joint Front. Hence, it's my request if you could ask them to send one of their representatives to the said forum.

I also request that the front secures more active participation in the FORUM of our east Delhi's representative to the Parliament Mr. Sandeep Dixit and that of assembly representative Mr. Naseeb Singh to look into the woes of the residents instead of the front's taking on all the responsibilities.

I wish you & the other members all the luck in the year to come ahead.

With warm regards,
Sumonto Mukerji/Mayfair Apartments

Towing Contractors To Pay For Damage To Vehicles

Get ready to be paid for any damages caused to your vehicle while being towed away in the national Capital. The Delhi Police has made it mandatory for the contractor to ‘settle’ any dispute over causing damage to any vehicle towed. This condition will be applied to 96 towing vehicles -- 56 having 1-2 tonne capacity and 40 having 1.4-2.3 tonne capacity -- which are being hired by the city police.

“Majority of the complaints are made in respect of damage to bumper of cars, especially those of luxury cars. The contractor should use rubber tyres during towing process and exercise precautions to prevent damage while it is being towed away,” a senior police officer said.

In the event of any damage caused to private vehicles while towing, the officer said, the owner of the crane “must reach the site of occurrence or traffic circle office immediately to settle the issue.” The claim against damage, if any, caused to the vehicle during the process of towing will have to be compensated by the contractor, the officer said, adding these clauses were incorporated in the tender. “Traffic Police will not be responsible in any manner for any damage caused to the vehicle or claim sought by the vehicle owners in consequence to the towing activity,” he said.

Traffic personnel on duty on the crane will maintain a register of vehicles towed or lifted along with time and exact location. “They will also take photographs of every vehicle towed as proof for justification of its removal from the location. The photograph will clearly show the registration number of the vehicle and the description of the location.

East Delhi RWAs Joint Front

Dear Shri Vohra ji,

Congratulation on accepting the more responsibilities as president of Joint Front East Delhi RWAs. I am confident that you will discharge your responsibilities more efficiently in the interest of residents.

I was away to Shirdi the famous seat of "SAI BAWA JI" for about 2 weeks as such could not extend my greeting earlier.

Once again my best wishes to you and your team.

Residents score where cops fail

NOIDA : Finding police ineffective in providing a foolproof security, the Residents' Welfare Association of Sector 15A came up with a two-tier security setup. The RWA invested about Rs 5 lakh to install of CCTV cameras and also pressed into action a team of private security guards with motorbikes to track the movement of the people in and out of the sector.

The idea took shape in 2006 after the kidnapping of a 3-year-old child of a top MNC executive from a nearby residential colony. Sector 15A consists of around 500 plots and 250 flats, and is barely half-a-kilometre away from the Gautam Budh Nagar SSP office. Individual house security is well-coordinated with the main-security setup. With fencing all around the sector, the RWA has now decided to replace barbed-wire fencing with more advanced spring steel fencing.

The RWA has now decided to upgrade the security setup.

East Delhi RWAs Joint Front

Dear Mr. Vohra/ Mr. Ghai,

Some where in my heart and mind there is a fear factor on what all the dirty Lilian of the society you are heading to clean shall be a Himalayan Task for you !

Speaking purely on my personal experience of such pure, transparent social services rendered in various RWA's as well as an independent corporation candidate, in our Mayur Vihar-1 there are many-many public- Life encroachments for the residents fully encouraged by DDA , MCD, DJB, Police etc.etc.

There is no body, no resident to join hands with each other just to bring to light such problems like Water, Electricity, Drainage, open Naalies, Sanitation and Maintaining Parks etc. Police Patrolling in various Pockets etc. Absolutely deaf and dum response from all the above mentioned Dept. have so much discouraged us  that we were left with no other alternative BUT to make a complete withdrawal from this chapter permanently and embraced the retirement with a determination never-never to return to  the social Activities. I mean it for the rest of my life.

So, I wish, that your services shall bring such a Nobel cause useful for the Public and so shall be blessed  to archive a great success. Best of Luck.

NEXT WORKING GROUP MEETING - Agenda

Vohra ji,

I suggest the following may be included in the Agenda for the next working group meeting:

1.    EMPOWERMENT OF RWAs  -
        *  RWAs should be involved in the decision making process about projects relating to their respective colonies;
        *  Priority should be fixed as per the requirements of the residents, not as per the wishes of the bureaucrats;
        *  Payment to contractors should be made only after production of a "work satisfactorily completed" certificate from the concerned RWA.
        *  Presidents/General Secretaries of RWAs and RWAs Joint Front should be connected with 'Hot Line' to talk directly with the decision makers.
2.    WORKING OFFICE SPACE FOR RWAs  -
        *  Most of the RWAs work out of the residence of either the President or the General Secretary.  Once they change the address also changes.  It is also an encroachment on the privacy of the family.
        *  A working office space should be provided to RWAs where required.  The CM has provided about a dozen  Porta Cabins of reasonable size to RWAs in her constituency for running offices, out of the MLA funds.
        *  Office Space for RWAs should be included as an eligible item under the MLA funds.  A suitable space should  also be provided to put up the Porta Cabin either in a park or a tot lot, etc.
        *  With proper office space, RWAs can work more efficiently;  and can personally interact with more civic agencies' and police officials to ensure sanitation and security in the area.
It approved, these items have to be taken up at the CM level.

Hearing regarding madhuvan 15ft public passage encroached by Universal public school preet vihar

In continuation to hearing held by chairman PGC on 2nd august 2010,
The hearing took place as scheduled today 1/09/2010 in the chamber of chairman pgc.
School principal, mcd officers were present.
From society side, hony secretary sh.op rai, joint secretary sh.b.l.rastogi and my self attended.
The perpetual sublease of houses beyond which school has encroached public passage were shown to chairman and photo copy placed on record.
The school sublease was produced by school principal.
The perusal of school sublease indicated that there is 15ft public passage of madhuvan .
Further, it was also seen that area under possession of school is more than land allotted.
It was also brought out that though school came into existence in 1984, but building completion certificate was only applied in 2007 which was REJECTED by mcd.
This makes the school building illegal construction and functioning without any authority.
It was also pointed out that land was allotted for PRIMARY SCHOOL but now senior secondary school is functioning from 2 acre plot and what exist at site is not what was provided in building sanctioned plans for constructing this building.
Now it is for MCD authorities to act. Since 2005, society has been fighting to get back our public passage so that residents of madhuvan and neighbouring colonies could use it.
