RWA MEMBERS MEET KEJRIWAL, SUBMIT LIST OF SUGGESTIONS

NEW DELHI: To ensure participation of all sections of society, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal interacted with traders and resident welfare associations (RWAs) in the city.
Residents raised concerns over the high level of pollution in the capital and asked the state government to take steps to combat the problem.
“This is probably the first time that a state government has asked for our suggestions and we have submitted a long list after consulting a number of groups. We hope these suggestions will be made part of the budget,” said BS Vohra, president, east Delhi RWAs joint front.
The consultation was attended by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, the finance secretary and other senior officials of the Delhi government. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CCI) was the first group to make a presentation on budget recommendations for Delhi.
“The industry body made presentations on Delhi as a centre of excellence on knowledge economy, education, skill development, sanitation, industrial development, ease of doing business, taxation, among others. The suggestions have been noted down and we will examine them further,” said a senior Delhi government official.
According to a government spokesperson, both the chief minister and the deputy chief minister interacted with the members of the industrial body and deliberations were held on sectors like education, skill development, vocational training as per the industry requirements including skill university, job fairs, incubation centres for all and healthcare. Trade bodies also presented their suggestions including development of parks, individuals to be persuaded to partner in development of the city and tourism.
